About Lidded Cup

Lidded cup, aka lidded bowl or gaiwan, is a three-pieced tea ware containing the lid, the cup, and the cup holder.
In the past, it was usually used as a personal cup. Nowadays, more people use it to brew tea rather than drink straight from it.
Since it has a big rim, it’s suitable for brewing striped tea leaves, such as black teas, oriental beauty teas, etc.

About Ru Kiln

Ru Kiln was an official kiln for making porcelain for the Emperor back in Song Dynasty.
They use temperature-controlling technique to create intricate cracks on the surface of the glaze.
Therefore, every piece will have a unique pattern.
The cracks will absorb the color of tea, becoming more and more obvious as time goes by.
Because of its elegance and uniqueness, the Ru-Kiln technique is still well loved by many people to date.

Avoid using scrubs to clean as it may scratch the surface, making it easier to stain in the future.
If you wish to have the cracks show on the outside of the cup too,
rinse it with tea, or steep the set into a bowl of tea.
