This batch of custom teapots are made by our longtime master friend Tang Yen-Ping, who has made several of our anniversary teapots. We choose 3 vintage style and made them into smaller pots, perfect for small family to use. The clay is from our private stash of 90s clay.

About Purple Clay

Purple clay is a special mineral that can only be found in Yixing, China.
They come in a variety of colors, that may also change according to burning temperature, time, etc.
Their ability in maintaining the temperature makes them perfect for making tea, since they can enhance the flavor much better.
Another good feature of purple clay teapots are their air-pores.
They can absorb the essence of the tea, so the more you use, the shinier they will become.

care instructions

Clean with water before the first use.

Since purple clay teapots has air-pore that will absorb the essence of tea,
we recommend using different teapots for different type of tea.
For example, one teapot for light fermented (green, Wulong) tea,
and one for highly fermented (Tiekuanyin, black) ones.

Simply rinse with water after each use, no soap needed.
The pot will become darker in color and shinier after using for a while.
