30th Anniversary Teapot

30th Anniversary Teapot

The 30th Anniversary teapot is made with dark green clay, by our long-time artisan friend Tang Yen-Ping. The teapot was a remodeled design by the maker's husband, artisan Fan Zao-Da. The color of the clay is very unique. On first glance it looks black, but you can see the green hint if look closely.

About Purple Clay
Purple clay is a special mineral that can only be found in Yixing, China.
They come in a variety of colors, that may also change according to burning temperature, time, etc.
Their ability in maintaining the temperature makes them perfect for making tea, since they can enhance the flavor much better.
Another good feature of purple clay teapots are their air-pores.
They can absorb the essence of the tea, so the more you use, the shinier they will become.

ABOUT our anniversary Teapot
To celebrate our anniversary, we pick a style every year and make 50 teapots using our own seal.
Each anniversary teapot is numbered and comes with a certificate.
Since 2020, we decided to make anniversary teapots every 5 years,
as our clients have been collecting so many teapots over the past 25 years.

Clean with water before the first use.

Since purple clay teapots has air-pore that will absorb the essence of tea,
we recommend using different teapots for different type of tea.
For example, one teapot for light fermented (green, Wulong) tea,
and one for highly fermented (Tiekuanyin, black) ones.

Simply rinse with water after each use, no soap needed.
The pot will become darker in color and shinier after using for a while.
